Gunisha Kaur

Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology Director, Anesthesiology Global Health Initiative Co-Medical Director, Weill Cornell Center for Human Rights

Dr. Gunisha Kaur is an anesthesiologist specializing in human rights research. She conducts innovative research on displaced populations such as migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. Her projects have been supported by competitive awards from the National Institutes of Health, the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research, the Mario Einaudi Center for International Studies, the Office of the Vice Provost for International Affairs at Cornell University, and the Office of the President at Cornell University. A graduate of Cornell University and Weill Cornell Medical College, Dr. Kaur completed her anesthesiology residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine in 2014. She earned an MA in medical anthropology from Harvard in 2015. She currently serves as a Medical Director of the Weill Cornell Center for Human Rights, a Stephen M. Kellen Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and a Faculty Fellow of the Mario Einaudi Center for International Studies.
